![]() Psychic: I'm not too sure how it holds up to date, but back when M-Metagross and Tapu Lele ran rampant I think Psychic could have been one of the best types, but since ban lists went on I imagine it hasn't held up quite as well, but still has access to a lot of nice mons, like the Latis, Mew and Victini. However it's glaring weakness to rocks does hurt as I find you're not going to have a very pleasant time clearing them from the field if you have to take the damage upon entry.įlying: Again don't know much to say on this matter, other than it has some solid mons to choose from, it gained a fun new toy in Celesteela, but also lost their bravest bird in the process. While also having great access to entry hazards and hazard control with a fair few setters and spinners. ![]() It's lack of amazing physical attackers outside of maybe Zeroara also hurts the team a lot when your faced in front of a bulky assault vest user.īug: Just thing it's spoiled for choice when it comes to offensive mons, to name a few Scizor, M-Pinsir, Volocarona. Now the problem with Electric is, despite only being weak to one thing (ground), it can be quite easy to stop electrics momentum by throwing out a ground type or bulky grass types such as M-Venu to soak up a lot of their damage. Koko's electric terrain for me was one of the best things to happen to the type allowing it effective sleep immunity as well as stronger STABS, and allows A-Raichu to be a great speedy coverage option on an otherwise fairly linear type. This along with it's unparalleled utility with utility mons like Ditto and Smeargle just makes the type in general very customization and a force to be reckoned with.Įlectric: I think it as a type has some nice synergy with itself, with access to STAB volt-switch and the occasional U-turn to really keep things in full swing. Normal: Has access to a ton of solid choices ranging from great defensive mons like Pory-2 and Chansey, to great offensive units like Z- conversion Pory-Z and Mega-Lop who can suffocate teams if they're let set up. ![]() Alternatively it has a solid defensive team members to play stall if you see fit.įairy: Don't know much to say on this matter as I surprisingly have little experience fighting it, it's a solid type with some solid team options. this and the newly gained Drizzle on Peliper helps you keep up rain more consistently. Water: I think it can be hard to stop when it picks up momentum especially in rain teams, allowing it to just send out one of their powerhouses and mow through a few of your Pokemon before you get the room to breath. Aswell as a fairly notable offensive presence with the likes of Scizor and certain Celesteela sets I find it hard can get good work done and for the most part shrug off entry hazards like rocks and toxic spikes while also having good access to them. If you use these clearly you can stop complete stomps. Steel: Feel it has it's fair share of resists and bulky mons to go with it, even a few mons with partial immunity to it's weakness such as Heatran for fire and Skarm for ground. Interested to see what people think, agree/disagree or if you want me to go into further detail about any type and why I ranked them there. I have not played much at all in about 6+ months now so I'm not sure if this holds up, but this is how I felt back when I use to ladder and play in tours daily. Mid: Grass, Fire, Dark, Ground, Ghost, Dragon High: Electric, Bug, Flying, Psychic, Poison From my experience of Monos, (of which I exclusively played for nearly 2 years since S/M launch), I'd personally rank them as follows. Interesting question, while I agree with some of your placements I've formed some different opinions in my time playing. What are your thoughts on the current standing of Types in the Monotype meta? Poison's bulky core is also insane, having many options to pick teams apart until they're just Venusaur or Toxapex bait. I feel like Dragon, Normal, and Electric have just enough tools they need to survive, but do it very well, especially Electric. Steel is also one of the highest placed Types in my personal list that I feel has a true hard loss (to Fire due to Zard X). While it has some major threats and can go HO, balance, or even make one of the better attempts at stall, it can't do it as well as many other Types. ![]() Though I feel like with the current climate, Steel is just a little out classed. ![]() I could easily see Electric as A or A-, Poison or Dragon as A- or B+, and Normal or Steel as B+ or B. I personally struggle to place Electric, Poison, Dragon, Normal, and Steel. My personal ranking, after only being back into it for a couple months is. Looking at the current meta, how would you order or tier the viability or at least usefulness of each type overall (taking into account ladder performance, tour performance, and overall validity and viability of teams)? ![]()
